NEPHROLOGY
Nephrology is a discipline that dedicates to the study of the diseases of the kidneys leading to renal failure. Nephrology emerged from Internal Medicine when techniques such as dialysis and transplantation became a secure option in the treatment of patients with renal failure.
Although there are a variety of kidneys diseases, the NRU concentrates their efforts in three main lines of investigation: hereditary nephropathies, such as Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease, Medullary Cystic Kidney Disease or Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease.
